VPS hosting allows customers to have their own dedicated resources like CPU, RAM and disk space. Customers won't be sharing these resources with other users as they are on our shared or reseller plans. Customers also have full root access on our VPS hosting plans which means they can install and customize almost any aspect of the environment and installed software.
While a virtual server and dedicated server are very similar there are some differences. A virtual server exists on a dedicated server, usually along-side other virtual servers. A dedicated server can host multiple virtual servers.
A dedicated server provides the end-user with full bare-metal access. The user has full access to all the hardware the dedicated server provides, whereas a virtual server general has a piece of all the resources on a dedicated server.
At this time our VPS service is an unmanaged service. This means management and support of any issues on your VPS is handled by the end-user (you). We can assist with any questions or issues you may have on the VPS control panel.
Yes! All of our VPS hosting plans come with root access.
Yes, an additional IPv4 address may be requested for $2.00/month.
Shared hosting is great for users with basic needs and websites. In a shared hosting environment there are many customers on a single server. All resources provided by the server are shared amongst these users. Resources can even be further limited per customer as to not cause issues for the other customers on the server. A shared hosting customer is also limited to the amount of customization that can be done to software on the server such as PHP limits or installing third party software.
We currently provide Windows Server 2019 as an operating system option. You must however provide your own license as necessary.
